Macbook Overheating + Zoom-In glitch?

I have a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - bought in 06.

Recently an odd glitch has been accompanying the common heating issue with my MacBook Pro. I've noticed that when my laptop gets so hot (hot to the point where if I hold my finger on the power button for more than 4 sec. I fear 2nd degree burns!) the screen starts to zoom in (the zoom that you get when you press apple +) My keys aren't stuck; I've checked. The problem seems to go away when I turn off the computer and let it cool down a bit.

Does anyone know about this? Is there a fix?

Thanks.

The machine should never get hot enough to where holding your finger on the power button would cause a burn. It's possible one or both of the fans are not working or not rotating fast enough. Does the computer shut down after getting that hot?

Regards.

I think its done that once out of the time I've had it. The only thing it does is zoom in when it gets that hot (started happening a few days ago). The Fans are always on and it's annoying because they'll kick in when I have nothing but a browser open. I'm not sure if maybe there is a problem with the fans or not.
