Hello!

I can't understand what is going on here. I have an M2 Macbook Air connected to my Studio Display. When it is locked and sleeping, the screen turns on every now an then. I suspect I get a notification then, but I'm not sure. I also checked the Notifications settings and notifications are not enabled for the lock screen.

Is this because it is a laptop connected to an external monitor? The Macbook is always closed.

After many years of being a desktop user, I now have a laptop connected to Studio Display as my main desktop. Maybe I am missing something.

Thank you for any help.

Had a similar issue with my Mini M1, monitor would come on but the Mac was still asleep so would get a "no input" message on the monitor then it would switch off. Changed some setting, (after advice on here) but I cannot remember which ones.

Thank you for your reply.

I don't get a "no input" message. My display just turns on and shows a lock screen. If I have my Apple watch on, it will unlock it.

If I don't connect Macbook to an external display, it will not turn on the screen.

I am totally confused here and it is quite annoying. I can't connect the issue with notifications or anything else.

I can't turn off the screen because Studio Display has no option for that. Also, I don't want to unplug the Thunderbolt cable every night. So this command worked just perfectly.
