I notice a few people on these forums are using TG Pro and after trialing the free version I wonder why that is? Yes, it has other functions but it's much more complicated to set up and seems to be missing one of the simplest features of Mac's Fan Control; graduated speed increase from a set temp.
That is, Mac's Fan Control does not interfere with the system default fan speed at all until it exceeds a set temp and even then only the set temp for a particular sensor.
So as I occasionally play GPU intensive games I have both my fans set to the GPU Cluster Average sensor and speed begins to increase from 50C with Maximum Temp set at 70C which means fans reach maximum speed at > 70C. This doesn't happen very often as the fan speed increases from >50C.
Achieving the same settings with TG Pro means setting staged increases expressed in percentage of fan speed eg at 50C fan increases to 60%, at 60C to 80% and so on. Then there are the System, Max and Auto Max as opposed to System, Manual and Auto Boost settings. All up it's a much more complicated setup than Mac's Fan Control which only requires a choice of sensor and a min and max temp range.
So, assuming users have taken all this into account and read the very comprehensive tutorial at: TG Pro Tutorial as I did what do you see as the advantages over Mac's Fan Control?
