Hi,
I have MacBook Pro 2015.
Battery is dead for a couple of years and laptop is working fine on power, but I noticed that recently color of MagSafe charger is amber.
Actually, when I connect cable initially to laptop it's green but in 1-2 seconds it turns amber and states it all the time.
What could be reason and how could I fix it?

Thanks

susa, it's generally not a good idea to leave a dead battery in a laptop for a long time. The change in the Magsafe light colour could indicate that the battery has degraded further and could leak or swell causing damage to the inside of the device. A swollen battery is often first noticed when the trackpad refuses to click when you press on it or only clicks with a lot of force. Beyond that it can damage the keyboard rendering the device unuseable.

Well … are you recommending to take the battery off the MacBook?
Anyway it’s swollen and not charging at all.
sounds like a good idea to remove it
thanks

I would get it replaced yes. The MacBook most likely will not work without a battery of some sort. If that's all that's wrong with it you may get a few more years of use out of it.
