How do you make a rule to delete mail from you trash mailbox that sent date is more than 4 days?

Mail rules does not seem to let you operate on a specific mailbox.

Maybe you could manage deleting those particular email messages in Mac Mail by creating a Smart Mailbox and a rule or a condition that could delete such messages after X days or whatever your condition is you want to set:

Hopefully there's a "condition" that matches what you need that you could set for the Smart Mailboxuse and accomplish what you you want.

If not, possibly the Mail Rules or Conditions allows you to run an AppleScript to do what you want.

This info via Google doesn't work?
To set how long deleted emails stay in the Trash mailbox.

  1. Go to Settings

    > Passwords & Accounts.
  2. Tap your iCloud email account > Tap iCloud > tap Mail (at the very bottom)> then tap Advanced.
  3. In the Advanced settings, tap Remove, then select a time interval.
You should then see the options to remove deleted messages:

Never
After one day
After one week
After one month
