K so im running a 2.53 intel core 2 duo, 4 GB 1067 mhz DDR3, with OSX 10.5.8...

I've looked everywhere to see if anyone else has posted about this but I haven't found any similar story's..

so, you know that "BOOP" noise that mac makes if you click the mouse on a window that you cant click on yet? if you need an example, and are using either firefox or safari, go to file>open file than a window will open, try and click anywhere on the screen behind the new window that just opened and it makes the "BOOP" sound im talking about lol

well my MBP keeps making that sound on its own out of nowhere! its getting rather annoying... I thought maybe its a malicious program running in the background? the computer it self is working just fine for speed, i have noticed that the mem usage has been a wee bit higher than usual but all in all the computer is still working like a charm

just this **** noise going off.. any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum - Try going in here in Sys Prefs and changing the selection - if that changes the sound then you are getting an alert for 'an illegal instruction' - read computer does understand what u want done.
