ok, so heres the deal. i've got my emac. i love it, i hate it. its huge, its heavy, and being a g4, it was classified as a government weapon or something cool like that (technically a supercomputer of the day or something lol).

i'm gonna slim it down, i've read the articles on both headless emacs and lcd emacs. awesome stuff right there.

now for the goodies. i can grab some cables to test this myself, but i gotta run to the next town to get them from my buddy's place, and typing here is more convenient (yes, i'm a lazy freak), so i'll ask here. looking on the emac logic board (i had to swap the hdd when i got it), i see that the ide channels do not appear to be connected, and what i see in system profiler seems to confirm that. profiler shows two ide channels, hdd on one and dvd burner on the other. both show up as drive 0.

can anyone confirm if the emac board supports the standard primary/secondary, master/slave arrangement?

if so, i'm hoping to stuff the case with 3 750gb drives when i do the lcd conversion and make a better machine of it.

I'm not sure it does. I remember the emac having an odd IDE channel arrangement which prevented adding 2 hard drives.
