Mojave macbook air update

I have read that you can force mojave onto older macs. I have read that my 2011 MacBook air a1369 will run mojave just fine..

Has anyone done this, I suppose i can download mojave from my macbook pro, put on usb and update my 2001 MacBook air..

Probably not. The installer usually first checks the hardware...and if the hardware is not a compatible model...the installer won't run.

There is a Mojave patcher out there for unsupported Mac's. Use at your own risk (I have not used it).

I have used the Patch on my 2008 MacBook Pro. There's a brief thread about it here. The first post is a bit long because it lists all of the steps I used and links you a YouTube video describing the process. Pay particular attention to the info on identifying your wireless network hardware. Apparently sone network hardware does not play nice with this patch.

I didn't run this extensively But it ran reasonably well. I've temporarily taken Mojave off of the MacBook Pro for now until I can really put it through the wringer so to speak. The first time I applied the patch I did an upgrade install and things worked well. Later I tried a clean install and I got the "prohibited" sign which tells me something went wrong. I'll probably give it another try shortly.
