Mouse pointer has gained a square icon

Ok, cant work this out... For some reason Ive started getting a small square/rectangle alongside the pointer icon in both the finder and some apps... It also makes the pointer much less accurate as it seems to offset the horizontal alignment of the point of the pointer arrow... I must have switched something on, but cant see what.

Any help appreciated - Screenshot to the right.

Do you get this after a fresh reboot of the computer…and no apps open? If not good. If so…do you have any apps that auto-launch on reboot?

If this doesn't appear until after apps are launched (after a fresh reboot). Then it's app related.

Thanks Nick, yes, I ahve a quite a lot auto launch on reboot... Will close all apps, log out and try one at a time... Sure it's app related now.

Sounds like an Accessibility problem.

Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Select Zoom. Towards the bottom is Zoom Style. Ensure it is set to full screen not picture-in-a-picture.
