network solutions email and iCal

My email provider is network solutions and I am having trouble setting up my iCal with this email. I have talked to the smart people at the Apple store and network solutions (NS) to no avail. NS said they are compatible with all calendars. I have tried every way under the sun to make it work. I am currently using gmail with my iCal and it works great. I want to be able to send and receive appointments using my NS email address. Does anybody have any experience syncing a NS email address with iCal? Please help.
