Purchased a lifetime subscription to Wondershare Filmora9 in July 2019. Upgraded to Monterey approximately one month ago. Never had this problem previously. Here's what happens when I try to open it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Monterrey removed Python 2.7 since it was EOL and it looks like this application needs access to it.

You can go to this download site and grab the Mac installer.

Once installed, check the folder /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions and you should see a folder called 2.7. If you go into that folder, you should see a file called Python.

Won't have time to try this until tomorrow. I'll report the results then.
Thank you.

Is this correct, or does it have to be version 2.7.18 ?

No, you need 2.7.18 since that's what the program is looking for. The newer version of Python requires changes to the application. 2.7.18 is the last version of Python 2.

Downloaded & installed. Hopefully this is the folder you referred to in your first reply. It's located in applications.

Here's what shows up when I click on the folder.

After you install Python 2.7.18, there is now a new folder with the correct info under the folder /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework that was created. However, your application is looking for it in the /System/Library/... folder.

The first thing to try is to run your Fimora9 application again and see if it crashes, if the app works then your job is done.

If it still crashes, then you're in a sticky situation since the /System folder is protected and you can't add stuff into it easily.

It looks like Filmora11 is what is supported on Catalina onward, so you'll likely have to upgrade to the newer version.

It worked!
Filmora started normally. I don't know how to thank you Ashwin ?
I've always been impressed with people who are more knowledgeable than the average bear, & willing to take time out of their day to help someone with an issue.

Thanks Again(y)
Here's an example of how I use the Filmora software
