Is it still recommended to run onyx? used to use it all the time in snow leopard but never updated. I'm running high sierra now.
And yes, you should run OnyX every once in awhile or if it's needed.
Personally, I haven't found it to fix anything I was expecting it to the last few times I have run it, and it sure can add to one's workload reentering all one's various logins and passwords etc. and getting things to work normally again.
Have you run it lately? Most of the utilities that were included in the maintenance cleanup are no longer there. It does not remove passwords or logins and as far as I can remember, it never did for me
Yes, I ran it just a week or so ago and had to reenter all my usernames and passwords for all sites like this one and for some other stuff as well.
And it didn't even improve or fix anything. Patrick

But since you're not running Mojave (or maybe not even High Sierra), you must be using an older version of OnyX where removing those items was an option. We have always warned folks about using the auto setting in OnyX and not choosing options that they did not need or understand.
