Photo Booth not working

Iʻve tried everything I could find, deleting pl lists, even reinstalling Mavericks, but my photo booth first lost almost all my Photo Booth library, now has a few but will only get the spinning clock, camera /film not working..any ideas ?

Mahalo..I think youʻve asked the right question. Did it work?
I've had problems in the past, but it's usually been because another application was hogging the camera. (eg Final Cut, etc)
If it is a hardware fault - and if you're out of warranty - then, yes, a simple clip-on/plug-in replacement will do the trick.

My PhotoBooth recently lost all past pictures. It's inexplicable!
Where was the library, you mention in your OP?

Aloha.. You get to the libraries by going to finder, the GO menu , hit the options key and library appears in the middle go there then to preferences and BY HOST and all the plists appear scroll to photobooth delete, immediately restart . They will be recreated, no worrys .

The actual photos I got to by going to your boot drive icon, <your username>, down to
Pictures folder .. Let me know if this works for you. Aloha, †
