There used to be a setting for printers and scanners but it isn’t there. After the recent update a friends phone cannot see her printer. I had suggested deleting the printer and reinstalling but there is no setting to do that.

Been there. Done that. Nothing embarrassing about that.

Thanks for letting us know.

False alarm. She had turned off WiFi. Of course nothing worked!

Good news they found the problem and the cause.

I have always been curious best to how are Canon and Brother Wireless inkjet printers/scanners work as well as they do when Wi-Fi on our Networked iMacs there's normally turned off. 😉

I think the Canon is using an ethernet connection and the brother is using the Wireless connection from the wireless router where I believe it is registered for our use.

Anyway it works very well from our IMAcs and other iDevices the printing is exceptionally fast especially the Brother inkjet. Here's hoping I haven't spoken to soon... 😉😉

I know the Brother models have been able to work that way for some time. Our printer is several years old and behaves that way. One of the setup options walks you though steps that are similar to other network devices. Mrs. Slydude is connected to our router via ethernet and can print with no problem even though she has wireless capabilities off on her PC.

We also didn't want it to depend on whether a specific computer was on to be used as a print server.
