for broadband choice, would you go with EE wifi at 150Mbps with a wifi 6 router or Sky wifi at 500Mbps with their std wifi 5 router. The flat being ~ 1137sq ft (i believe the router has to be fitted at corner of flat :(( so booster likely required and was used before by last owners but they probably had wifi 5 router). Usage is not that heavy, typically 4 ppl maximum with their mobile phones, 2 playing games and 2 watching YouTube. The range is likely more important as previous tenants required a booster. Both are very similar in price. Sky does do a wifi 6 router but that costs extra £3-10pcm. Currently use 3’s 5G router with a sim card and it is awful for range, range with only one room getting any wifi. Which would you choose 150mbps with wifi 6 router or 500mbps with wifi 5 router? We had 70mbps wifi 5 before and that was sufficient for a ~700sqft flat

There are probably nuances to this across the pond that I'm unaware of, so our brethren from there might chime in on the specifics..

But, in my case, I used to have Cable modem about 15 years ago and then switched to FiOS. My ISP has the FiOS modem which is also a WiFi router, but I don't use it for that. I have my own set of routers and extenders that allows me to get the coverage I need and the type I need.

I had a TP-Link Archer router with 3 extenders for a while. About 6 months ago I swapped out to a set of Deco routers instead.

All you really need from the ISP provided router is the cable to connect to your own router and you can 1) own your routers, 2) upgrade to whatever new standard comes up, 3) figure out how to get the best coverage in your home.

IMO, faster is what you want. WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 don't matter that much and it doesn't matter how fast your local network is if your inbound/outbound connection is slow..

What they advertise is not necessarily what you get. I use TalkTalk with their Eero router (all fibre) and find that 150mbps is quite enough for my needs and probably yours too. You probably won't get anywhere near 500 but you would get significantly more than 150. But as I say, with your usage I'd say 150 is quite enough at present.

thanks for replies, so if you had a choice, which you go for? none of us are v technical, but the ethernet socket for fiber broadband is in far end of flat in the corner, so wifi6 150mbps with EE or wifi 5 500mbps Sky, both are like £2 apart. wifi 6 router has the longer range, but l can get something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08XBXCQRP/ as in 2nd attachment and have the isp router nearer the middle of flat? or someone recomend a good comparatively priced booster super easy to set up? the openreach ethernet socket, pictured, in only one room corner room , as indicated by pink star . thanks again for help.
