After a great deal of effort I was successful creating a FAX PRINTER in Printer and Preferences using CUPS and the following link.

https://gist.github.com/essandess/8c0722794562821a24e6cd6fcec3bb8b

I can now send faxes in Mac Sierra. However, I was surprises that the new FAXPRINT window Preferences Print and Scan has no option selection button for Receiving Faxes.

It is missing!

So can anyone show me how to get the "Receive Fax" option button back into the USB Fax Window.

What files do I need to load from El Capitan Libraries?

It should be a simpler task to receive a fax than to send one.

Where are the files?

Comments?

Thanks

No replies to my post. Usually someone has input. The Faxprint works perfectly on Sierra using the USB Fax Modem so I am able to send faxes.

However, not able to receive faxes. There is no option in the Fax Print window.

Where are the files located in the Mac Libraries either on EL Capitan, Maverick, etc so I can move files over to Sierra.

Something is preventing the Receive Fax option. The Button is missing.

Is there a Mac OS expert who can advise me on how I might try to do this?

Help Please, comments?

What if I replaced the PrintAndScan.prefPane file on Sierra with the PrintAndScan.prefPane file from Maverick or El Capitan.

That should give me the Receive Fax Option back into the window.

Will this work?

I'm on holiday at the moment and only have my iPod Pro with me so I can't check; but if you google OS X Daily, and go on to their site, I'm almost certain that they posted a whole article on Faxes within the last few days.

The information there might answer your questions.

The good news is swapping out the the Sierra PrintAndScan.prefPane file with the PrintAndScan.prefPane file from Maverick or El Capitan gets back the Receive Options into the Print and Scan Window.

The not so good news is it does not do anything.

I have no idea what files that option links to or where those files are.

Ideas anyone?
