Hi. Recently, my iMac G5 (isight) has been displaying strange blue lines across the screen. Booting up from the install disk and running the Apple Hardware Test shows corrupt vram. If i try to boot from a linux CD, every distribution fails to boot and displays error messages about my display and vram. Is there a way to reset the vram or the video card itself? I have tried resetting the PRAM, but it changes nothing. The graphics card is a Radeon X600 Pro.

No, there is no way to "reset" the vram. VRAM is similar to your RAM.

About the only thing you can do is "reseat" the card - shut down, pull the card, plug it back in. With the error messages you're getting, it's also highly unlikely to be any type of drive issue. My guess would be the video card is dead or dying.

You can reset nvram.

Hold down command, option, O and F on reboot and it will go to a white screen with some text. Type the following commands, including hyphens, and after each hit the return key:

reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all

It should boot back to your OS then. It may well help.

Resetting the nvram doesn't change anything. I think I may need a new logic board.

Sadly it would seem so.
