Hello, I have an iMac (24 inch, early 2009 Intel Core 2 Duo, GT 130) which for quite some time keeps shutting down after a while after booting up, under Snow Leopard it takes a few minutes until 'to High Sierra or I don't have time to log in. the problem does not appear in safe mode, I imagine that it therefore comes from a driver which crashes the pc, and can also be from a component.

I have already increased the ram which is from 4 GB to 8 GB, dusted off, changed the thermal paste.

Here are the logs at 09:32:57.925 where this product crashed:

You can test this theory by booting the iMac from an external hard drive with a fresh install of the macOS. If the internal drive is having issues (of any sort)...this will confirm or deny it.

You also could be experiencing a "kernel panic"...many times this can be related to bad RAM. To test this...remove all RAM...then install 1 stick of RAM at a time...and reboot the computer. Continue doing this until you identify the "good" or "bad" sticks of RAM. If a "bad" stick of RAM is found...of course don't use it.:)

This what I do actually, from a ssd connected by USB.
About the RAM, I have already try with another set of different RAM, so I guess there are no bad RAM. And in safe mode I can do anything without crash, i think maybe more about a graphic problem with memory, like in safe mode graphic card is not used.

Please clarify.

Are you saying you regularly run your iMac via this external SSD...or are you saying that you normally operate the iMac via the internal hard drive...but are using the external SSD for testing purposes only?

If you're using the external SSD for testing purposes only (booting the computer from the external SSD)...is the macOS installed on this external SSD a "fresh" virgin copy?

It was your theory (mentioned in post#1) that the the issue could be from a driver. If the macOS in the external SSD is a fresh virgin macOS install...then this "driver" theory is probably not possible...since a fresh virgin install of the macOS very likely wouldn't cause these crashes.

Yes it’s for testing so it’s a completely fresh install from leopard and upgraded to lion and Yosemite actually. Yes you right about driver, but maybe that it’s a material problem that appear when the driver is used…otherwise how to explain that in safe mode there are no crash ? 😅

I re-read the initial post...and "High Sierra" was mentioned.

What macOS is this Early 2009 iMac running (internal drive & external drive)?

Official newest/maximum macOS for a 24" Early 2009 iMac is El Capitan (macOS 10.11). If this computer is running High Sierra (macOS 10.13)...then this is not an official Apple supported macOS version for this computer...and could be the issue.

Also be aware that if High Sierra was ever installed on this computer...part of the High Sierra install is a mandatory firmware update. Not 100% sure how this High Sierra firmware update would work on a non-officially supported computer...but this could also cause an issue.

If you've tried fresh installs of this many macOS versions...and the RAM is 100% good...very very possible this iMac has a hardware issue (logic board issue)...maybe related to the graphics hardware (as you suggested above).

If this 2009 iMac has dedicated/removable graphics hardware (some do)...you could try removing it & replacing any thermal paste or thermal pads. But if the graphics hardware has failed in some way...might be the end of the line for this computer (since replacement graphics hardware or a replacement logic board...could very likely cost more than the computer is worth.

Sometimes failed or failing fans can cause issues as well (sends a bad signal to the system).

Apple Community forum mentioned something similar (failed graphics hardware).
