My one favorite game from long ago was Sim Tower. It no longer exists as a Macintosh game :( and I was wondering if there was a port or perhaps someone who could help porting it to Intel Mac OSX. Hope this helps.

Wow. Creepy.

Last night I was trying to find a way to run this very game! It's real cool and fun :p

There isn't a port out there right now, but who knows? I doubt there will be an official one anytime soon though. Someone ported Red Faction to OS X.

The only solution I found, and the one I will eventually use, is to install Windows through Parallels and run it in that. Because I'm going to do that anyways.

I don't know. The other, free solution is to get a free Classic OS emulator and run it in that.

You could also get DosBox, a dos emulator and run it that way.

I'd love to be able to play SimTower again. Has everyone given up on this game? I've still got my copy, and I even tried to play it about a month ago.

Sooper Fast!
That looks like something on the right track, but I've never used DOS before and can't figure out how to run the game. Perhaps someone with some DOS experience could enlighten us?

I'm at work. If I have some free time later I'll post up...here's a hint. Search for Dapple Grey. It's a Doxbox GUI that simplifies things ten fold

I have yet to get this to work with SimTower, it constantly tells me it needs a windows machine. Although I use this following method for alot of my older games:

Well with DosBox I:

Take the game file itself>select it>right click>open with>all applications>dosbox>then open

The game file is NOT the setup file. It is usually a shortened version of the game's title and is an .exe. In this example it is "CARMEN.EXE".

This method mounts everything for you and alliveates alot of the work. It looks like this:

The game will then launch itself, and enjoy!

I tried this with the original "SIMTOWER.EX_" and I got an invalid something or other. I changed the file name to "SIMTOWER.EXE" and DOSbox went to this screen and hasn't changed (nor do any commands work):

Any suggestions?

Files such as SIMTOWER.EX_ are compressed. Rename it back to SIMTOWER.EX_ and try EXPAND SIMTOWER.EX_
