I'm attempting to isolate a problem that occurs not often, but in spurts.

Basically the "\" slash key and my "4" key often repeat themselves randomly even when I am not touching the computer, often the "\" key seems to be "set off" when I use my RETURN or DELETE key which are right above and below it. But then the "4" key goes off at random times... sometimes I will close my Macbook and I'll open it up and it's been typing on it's own.

Then some days it never happens even once.

Any idea what this could be? It's a Macbook Pro, and like new - I got it second hand from a guy who only had it about 6 months... though I am starting to think the guy wanted to get rid of it because of this issue... Help!!

Thanks!!! :)

Blessings,

Hi, Cal.

I've been having this problem for the last two days except that my slash key seems to be set off by the letter p. My delete key is also completely dead.

I don't know any solutions or fixes, as I've tried just about every tip on this forum, but you're not the only one.

Do the keys feel like "sticky" to you when you push them down? If so, you might want to clean them out. You can find some tutorials on Youtube about removing keys. You can also start by blowing/sucking some air down those keys (not your breath, its moisty...).
