Hi,

Quick question. Is it possible to install Snow Leopard using my 8gb iPod Touch as an external drive?

Ok,

So I can turn my iPod Touch into an external hardrive, but it requires the use of software, either from the computer, or the iPod Touch itself (An App).

Obviously I can't use the software from the computer because I can't use it while I am reformatting, and I can't use software (An App) from the iPod Touch because the drive has to be wiped clean to install the OS. Correct?

So with this in mind, is it still possible you think?

Well, you will need about 6GB of space. So, if that 8GB iPod Touch is full, you're going to need to clear up some space and then set it to work in disk mode via iTunes.

My advice would just be to pick up an 8 or 16GB flash drive. They're pretty cheap these days and have many uses.
