Spinning wheel when I click into my downloads folder

Hi, I have a download folder and I must have downloaded a funny file and now when I click on that folder the spinning wheel keeps turning and I have to turn my machine on and off again to get out of it. How do i fix it.

Download and run Onyx and the free version of Malwarebytes which should clean up your system. Or if you suspect which is the rogue file, search for it in Finder and move to Trash.
