I started to use FL Studio on my MacBookPro a few days ago and I immediately noticed dead pixels after a few hours of use. FL Studio is a Music Composition suite (FL Studio).

No matter what I try, these pixels won't go away and I always have some part of the FL Studio UI overlayed over the Menu Bar and the Dock at the bottom of the screen. The issue even occurs when I restart my mac (on the boot loading screen where the UI of the OS is not loaded yet).

A weird Overlay over my menu Bar (you can't see this clearly here but this overlay is actually some part of the FL Studio UI)

Here you can find a video of the issue: Dropbox - 20200418_154200.mp4 - Simplify your life As you can see, these are not really stuck pixels or dead pixels as the colors are changing when I pass the cursor on the black area.

I tried all kind of things:
  • Reset NVRAM & PRAM several times
  • Reset SMC several times
  • Using JS Screen fix to try to get rid of the stuck pixels
  • Uninstall & reinstall FL Studio
  • Running the diagnostic tools from FL Studio (no problems detected)

Tried to replicate the issue on an external screen (nothing's wrong on an external screen. I guess it is not a GPU issue as the problem doesn't replicate on an external screen. This thing is pretty annoying, to be honest, I don't know what to try anymore.

Does anyone ever experienced such issues? If yes, any idea of what I could do to fix this issue? Or Any idea of what could be the cause of the problem? Please note, that the intensity of the issue changes over time. Sometimes it's not so noticeable and then a few hours later, it will be very visible.

Thanks :)

ps: sorry for my English, I am not a native

Have you checked in, System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items? Make sure FL Studio did not add anything that may be causing this issue.

Based on this statement...it sounds like you're saying the dead pixel issue wasn't present prior to using this program FL Studio.

What happens if you quit FL Studio & reboot the computer?

* If the dead pixels go away...then there must be some sort of issue with FL Studio.
* If the dead pixels remain...very likely the dead pixels must have been present before using FL Studio.
