I keep getting the following caution box on my iMac/Yosemite. My system has 32GB of RAM and an i7 2.93 GHZ.
I recently did the Apple update to 10.10.5 and now I get to see this ad nauseum...

"The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/RemoteVirtualInterface.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update."

It appears when Fusion 7 starts up. Thinking it might be related to Fusion 7 I upgraded to Fusion 8 and the caution box continues to display.
Is this Apple or some yet unknown application? The caution box is annoying.

Thanks in advance,

Did you uninstall Fusion 7? Have you tried a Permissions repair using Disk Utility?

It's a known bug with Yosemite and Fusion. Use Finder and go to your "Macintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions/" folder and rename the "RemoteVirtualInterface.kext". Rename it to "RemoteVirtualInterfacekext.bak" and then reboot. The error will no longer display.

I just installed Fusion 8 thinking it would do whatever it needed with Fusion 7. I will run the disk utility and see what happens.

Thank you!

Yes I found that link and the version reported was 1.0 with no other information making me think Apple was the guilty party.
I don't have a vendor to track down.

I verified and repaired file permission and the message continues to appear.

Thanks to everyone who suggested how to fix the problem.

Thank you Administrator! I overlooked your fix and it does appear to be correct.

Thank you!
