Hi. So for some reasons I need to find the root directory on my macOS sierra 10.2. The thing is that I can find the folder in finder.
I'm trying to install addictive drums for my logic pro and I need its resources.xpak file which can be found in the Root folder, though I'm unable to locate it.
So, I tried finding the folder in finder and it did work, but I need to know the exact location of it. I'm not experienced in using mac so I need to find a directory like you can do in windows. (ex. C:/Program files/Root) Can anyone help me with it?
BTW it is NOT the root directory (/). It is an actual FOLDER. So if u didnt understand what I need, ask the questions, I'll try to explain it. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Caution: Normally, Users have no reason to be in the root directory. That is generally reserved for the system use, not users. However, if you must try, it's at "/". It is a folder, but it has no name, just "/". You can get there in Finder by selecting "Go" in the top bar, then Go to Folder and type in just the slash. In there you will find folders, but none called "Root" because there is no such folder. Your reference is to a Windows folder. macOS isn't Windows, doesn't have the same structure. And playing about in the / folder can lead to catastrophic results (making the machine unbeatable, for example).

All that said, if you want to find resources.xpak, then you can try either EasyFind or Find Any File to search for the filename to see if it exists, and if so, where it is in the macOS. But applications also work differently in macOS than in Windows, so even if you find a file by that name, there is no guarantee that it equivalent to the Windows version of the filename.

Look down at the bottom of your window. There should be what is called a Pathlist. This will tell you exactly where you are in the directory structure.
If yours doesn't show this try looking in your ~/Library folder under Application Support.
