Hi it's been awhile, but I'd like some help please. I hope I posted in right forum

My current iMac
12 March, 2015
iMac, Retina 5K, 27-inch
Mac OS X Yosemite
4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Apple Wireless Keyboard + Apple Magic Mouse
Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2048 MB
1 TB Fusion Drive
x4 USB Ports - 3 used
iWork (pages=word, numbers=spreadsheet, keynote=powerpoint)
AppleCare Protection Plan (warrenty)

8 years old running Big Sur, unable to upgrade OSX Was told upgrading fusion drive and some other things is not possible
Photo Stream de-active - most used for transferring photos to iMac via iPhone. (Was easy for me due to physical disability, not plugging in cables). I won't pay for iCloud, talked to Apple and options were use a USB cable or Airdrop. Have read here about Image Capture which might be a lot easier but still need to plug USB cable in.

I see there are no more all in one iMacs :( I won't go to 24" LCD or M1. I want to get 27" LCD and as I can see it the Mac Studio is the option. I was informed that my current iMac could be used as the display as it still works for now. I was told I can still buy a LCD anytime if needed. Mac Studio and LCD both need power points, I have no more but I guess another adaptor point would work along with my 6 point one.

Buy a new LCD and sell my iMac or what to do

I wondered about getting the new 27" display with Studio
I also want to get a McBook and was suggested the Pro. Then if needed I could use that if I was stuck in bed for awhile or could take it anywhere.
Or buy the lot LOL

Below is what I was suggested... any thoughts? Note I want my next iMac to store all my photos/videos including new ones, have enough storage, memory and speed. By the below I think person from Apple said it last 8-10+yrs

Mac Studio Most costl

Hi Jake, I mean another new iMac series like the 27" or wondering if they have or will discontinue those and work with the Studio or Minis

The Mac Studio and the Mac mini are both popular models that exist, and will continue in any case. I don't think that their existence has anything to do one way or another with Apple offering a big iMac in the future.

Whether or not there will be another 27-inch iMac, and if so when, is impossible to say. There are rumors, but until Apple says something there is no real way to know. Actually, the latest rumor is that Apple is working on an iMac with an over-30 inch display. See:

https://www.macrumors.com/2023/06/26/imac-with-over-30-inch-display/

For folks who wanted a 27-inch iMac, my recommendation has been to purchase a Macintosh mini, as they have become very powerful and competent, and pair it with a reasonably priced third party 27-inch monitor. This setup should be just as satisfactory as a 27-inch iMac and about the same price. I can offer some recommendations for a good, but reasonably priced, 27-inch monitor, if you like.

If yours is the same model as this 2015 iMac, it seems that they can run macOS 12.x Monterey:

Well, it seems like a pretty nice iMac model to me and still very much usable I would have thought.

Thanks that was interesting read, my imac is a later model 2014 and I've asked around including Apple who all say I'm unable to update OSX.

I was only going on what model you said you had that you posted, but you can always go and check out the site yourself and make sure you were looking at the correct model and check out the specs for it:

The information underneath the Apple icon in the top left of the display of the one you are using should also tell you what model you are using.
