Viewpure: Ad Free YouTube Videos

I just read about this app "viewpure" that you can access YouTube videos without actually going through YouTube apparently it cuts out all the adverts etc. we all know how much we hate all those adverts.... but necessary for posters.

has anybody ever used it?

This seems to be meant primarily to sanitize the video for consumption in schools and so on. It will get rid of a lot of clutter, but not sure it will get rid of the ads, but try it out yourself and see.

I just quickly tried it. I like it! I do worry about how this company makes their money, though.

I'll play with it more later.

Okay, I've played more with ViewPure:

ViewPure / videos without clutter

Watch safe YouTube videos without comments, related videos, or any other distractions. It's great for teachers, parents, and organizations alike - or really, anybody.

and I've got to say that I LOVE it! You can make it dead easy to use by putting it's icon in your favorites bar. Go to a YouTube page with a video you want to watch, and then just click on the ViewPure icon and all the ads and clutter are gone!

The result is very similar to having used a third party program or service to download a YouTube video and watching it externally. Not every last ad is removed, but just about all of them are and especially the most annoying ones.

ViewPure makes its money by selling ads that appear outside of videos. So it appears that one doesn't have to be worried that they make their money by collecting and selling your information.
