I downloaded VirusBarrier (VB) 1.1.4 from the Apple store last evening.
Definitions were automatically updated to 2020-6-16 so those are up to date.
Ran VB on the hard drive called Seagate, that is a 500GB external SSD drive connected via USB 3.0 that is currently my boot drive running Mojave, 10.14.6 on a 2012 Mac Mini.
VB is very very slow compared to MalwareBytes and DetectX Swift which I ran just before.
VB would literally take hours to complete, so I decided to see if I could use the Mac for some simple basic things like checking email and browsing the web while VB ran.
That worked for a while and then I must have clicked on something VB didn't like and it stopped scanning.
Could not get it to continue to scan so I quit VB and decided to run in during the night while I was sleeping.
Night comes and I start a VB scan on the "Seagate" drive, Gets to about 3/4 per the process bar then stops. No button to "continue"
Decide to turn it off and a message comes up that it's still scanning and do I want to continue or turn off the scan (3rd image)
I select "continue" but nothing happens - VB just stis there so after waiting 10 minutes or so I turn it off. That was at 3:00am in the morning.
At that time, I decide to try VB on another drive, maybe it doesn't like SSD's
Next drive is called "Macintosh HD", it is the original 5400 rpm spinner drive in the Mac Mini, a drive I currently don't use - it has macOS El Camino o it and all the data until about two weeks ago when it was my boot drive.
Same thing - VB does not complete the scan. I go through the same exercise with the message that the scan is not complete and with the same end result, ie none.
BTW - This VB scan ran from about 3:00am until 9:00am, so there should have been plenty of time to finish.
Couple of screen shots attached of the VB window at the point where the scan quit.
So at tis point VB is totally useless.
