Vuze extremely slow

MacBook Pro 17"; 3.06 Ghz; 4gb RAM; 500 GB HD 7200 rpm;
I've always been a windows user with utorrent, and i now have my mac and i downloaded vuze.
Which settings should i change?
i'm getting a max 5kb download and its driving me crazy.

Vuze works extremely well for me. With (legal) files I KNOW that should produce good speeds, I'll typically get between 2-3 MBps (yes, MB) If you are running a firewall though, it is extremely sensitive to which UDP port is open. Make sure that the ports it needs to communicate with aren't firewalled.
