For a thirteen-inch silver aluminum unibody MacBook Pro, where does the audio come from?

Well the audio usually comes from the speakers :p
and I'm assuming it's a 13", he's not that stupid that he wouldn't realize if there were speaker grills. There are speakers inside the MacBook, you can hear it best at the opening where the hinge is.

They seem to be underneath the keyboard on left and right sides, although I could not tell much of a difference in sound after taping a keyboard protector on.

With regard to sound quality, the internal speakers on my 13" are better than my Win laptop. The speakers in the 27" Cinema display are better still. And - of course - external speakers offer the highest quality sound from what I have tested. A good head phone set boosts quality of the internal sound noticeably also.
