Wondering if anyone can help me here. I have a Mac 10.6.8 desktop. This has only happened once and I can open other zips.

This download I did was to have .pdf's in the zip file, but when I tried to open it.. it just became another zip file with .cpgz on the end of it.

I use just the default one that comes with the mac.

Thank you in advance for any help with this problem.

They will not get rid of Safari. Current version is 10.0.1. The problem is Safari is tied to the operating system one is using. Snow Leopard is now six perating systems old and beginning to encounter problems because of its age. You would have seen this if you do online banking or other security conscious tasks as Apple has dropped Snow Leopard and no more security updates.

Thanks for that info. Harry. Maybe I need to get a new computer in the not to near future. Will have to look into it but I'm just a bit worried that as my Photoshop is old and as is my Poser, that I may have to get newer ones of them also and that takes it out of the near future. You think my computer is old, hahaha my programs are even older. CS2 and Poser 10 :)

I don't know about Poser, but CS2 is probably not going to work in Sierra. If you're depending on both of those apps for your business or job, you may wind up spending a bunch of $$$ just upgrading your software. That's what happens when you fall behind updating OS X. ;D

Luckly it's just for fun at home... which is why I haven't up dated. :) As I have all the disc's, would it be possible to buy a new computer and then 'down grade' it back to snow leopard or is it a whole new system that won't even read them? And then ofcause it's the having to learn new stuff. LOL

If you buy a new Mac right now it will come preloaded with macOS Sierra. There is no way to downgrade to a lesser or older version of OS X. Apple is all about moving forward, but you can always keep your older Mac around to run CS2 or other programs that will no longer run on the newer OS.
