One of our 2 whippets escaped from our garden yesterday. I went off to find him and away in the distance II could hear a faint sound. It turned out to be the 15th attempt by my wife to call me to say that he had returned home.

In Settings/Accessibility/Hearing Devices Play Ringtones is on. I’ve tried ‘always routing to hearing aids’ instead of ‘automatic‘ and it still doesn’t work. When I answer the call I can hear perfectly through hearing aids.

Here's what looks like a really good YouTube vide from Opticon on how to pair/syn to an iPhone.

Hope this helps.

Hmm, it is possible to set the ring tone to "all devices" so that your computer/iPad ect. rings on incoming calls. You may have to do this in cellular/mobile settings. Look for "allow calls on other devices".

Thanks Ian I'll have a look but Oticon's latest app is not as good as Apple's. My son has had poor hearing since childhood and it was he who told me Oticon's was rubbish and suggested that I use Apple's instead.

But if Oticon's works to deliver the ring tone and Apple's doesn't wouldn't it be better to use it?

I’ve looked at the video. The Oticon. On app which worked fiine has been superseded by Oticon Companion which doesn’t. As the video refers to the earlier app it looks as if it hasn’t been updated.

Not maligning your son's opinion, but have you tried the app for yourself to see if it will do what you want? I don't have Oticon aids (mine are Jabra), but they work perfectly with my iPhone and iOS 17.4.1. Sometimes annoyingly well.

When I bought an iPhoone SE3 I installed the Oticon Companion and it didn’t work. I‘ve checked on Oticon’s website and it may be that I need a firmware update from my NHS provider.

I've obviously overdone allowing various sounds because, if the TV is on or there is a conversation going on when I'm trying to send an email for example, the conversation is printed out. There are circumstances where this might be useful but I have no idea how to disable it.
