I have my ‘name’ that I use on Youtube posts.
This name is set on my Chrome account.
Yesterday suddenly my name changed to ’@henrymouni’.
@henrymouni’ now appears as my name and I don’t know how to remove it?
I removed the Chrome caches but it did not help.
Any guidance will be most appreciated.

Warm greetings Patrick.
My user name is fine, and unchanged on my Google account.
However the @henrymouni I found on my Youtube Channel is listed as my 'handle'.
I could alter this to my 'handle' name but I had to have the @ in front of it and a number behind it
as I was told me other people had my user name.
I looked on the YouTube Channel last night and noticed that every one who posted had their 'Handle' and not their usual name!
@lukejennings 981
@mrwilson6679
etc etc.
This must be a new policy by Google - no one told me and it makes no sense.
The Google site says your user name is the one that will be used on everything, but it is not - now.
Before I posted on Macforums I tried Google Community Help but was it announced that it was switched off??!!
Thank you for your interest and help Patrick!!

I guess you could always try giving them a call or dropping them a line some other way if you can, and see if they can answer your questions or give you a reason for the changes.

I wonder if there is anything in this blog that might help answer your questions or allow you to change things:
How to Change Your YouTube Channel Name

Or have a look at some of the hits with a Google search such as this:

Take note of recent dates in case there has been some policy change they haven't let users know about.

Try going to Studio. Click on the Wand i.e. Channel Customization and click Basic Info. YouTube now offers you a handle which you can remove by deleting it or change to something else if you want. Makes it easier to direct people to your channel. e.g. https://www.YouTube.com/@MikiSunshine That’s my channel. :)
