I upgraded to the new Mac Mini from the older version and noticed that my wired keyboard sometimes freezes when I'm typing. Ususlly emails are the dominant source or letters. My mouse also freezes when I click the button and someimes scrolling as well. I'm running Sequia 15.3. I'm now using the Edge brpwser to typ this out which the keyboard seems to be working for this post. It most happens with Google Chrome but not all the time. I also am getting Blue outlined headings when trying to type an email with Apple Mail. The keys not working are the Delete, space bar, arrow keys. This current keyboard works fine with my Apple Macbook Air. I sometimes have to disconnect the keyboard and reconnect to solve the problem but it does not last but goes back to freeing. Anyonw have any ideas to help? Thank you!

Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port and maybe try a different cable if it's even replaceable.

Is it an Apple keyboard? My wife has an old alphanumeric USB Apple keyboard, must be 6 + years old which still works perfectly with her new M3 MacBook Air so if it's an Apple keyboard you shouldn't have any problems. As for your mouse I think most of us use third party mice so if you continue to have problems with both I'd be taking the mini back to Apple while it's still under warranty.

Some things to try that might be diagnostic, and which are easy to do and won't hurt anything:

Boot into Safe Mode and see if the problem disappears while in Safe Mode. If the problem is gone while using Safe Mode, the problem is almost certainly caused by software (not hardware) and is due to a stay resident piece of software. Likely something that doesn't come from Apple. e.g. an anti-virus program.

If that doesn't work, try running the Mac OS's included utility Font Book to both "Validate Fonts" and to
"Resolve Duplicates":
