Just got the keyboard today.

Not understanding how the function keys are designed to work without setting up the keyboard as logitech claims?
1. The display brightness F1/F2/F3/F4 only functions pressing the fn key.
2. Adjusting sound volume F11/F12/ and F8-F10 (music) keys work without depressing fn key.

The function keys setting is not enabled (Settings->keyboard->Function Keys->"use as standard function keys using fn key == disabled.

Certainly does not work as the apple keyboards unless I'm missing something that i'm not aware of.

If you haven't already, you should install the Logi+ Options app and then setup the keyboard in there. Once you've done that, click on the keyboard, choose Settings and there's an option there to control what the F-keys do.

Hi, yes i did. No different than using the System Settings. Using the function keys without the fn key doesn't work

I have something called the Logitech Preferences Manager (preference pane) but can't remember exactly where I got it.

However, launching that pane gives a range of options including whether F1/F2/F3 etc are used as standard function keys, which I have UNchecked.

Very odd, I have that setting disabled in Settings and Log+ Options and the function keys do the special action as opposed to Fx. So F8 does indeed play/pause music and F9 skips and so on.

I believe the Logi options app replaced the perf pane. Not sure that's something even supported on newer versions of macOS.

I believe the LIt seems that is the case, and it took me hours to find out where the bloodyogi options app replaced the perf pane. Not sure that's something even supported on newer versions of macOS.

It seems that is the case, and it took me hours to find out where the bloody Logi options Wass to be found on my newer 2020 iMac running macOS Sequoia, 15.2, and finally found it in the Applications folder, and not as a System Settings preference where Applications folder, and not as a System Settings preference where it has been located for many years, and I agree with another member, or someone who mentioned that mentioned it has to be easily, and I agree with another member, or someone who mentioned that it has to be easily be the worst atrocious Mac utility software I have ever come across. But I was amazed that I actually managed to get some of the control buttons working the way I wanted after waiting through all the bloat that I had to wade through that the Application that the user is subjected to wade through.

What was wrong with the small preference pane type control panel that was much easier to use and set up?

I guess it's set up to go along with some of Apple's sequoia OS, which I'm trying to get working and figure out where everything is. So far, I am not impressed at all and migration assistant was a complete disaster when used on both our newer iMacs and I still got quite a way to go to get everything working the way we want after spending almost 2 weeks on the **** things, and many applications just don't work properly or are missing features that we were using before.

Anyway, I could go on for Pages, but will persevere a little bit more and if it doesn't work out, I think I will try installing Ventura or an older macOS version that I understand works quite well.

Maybe some of the problems were because of the large jump we made from El Capitán on the 2011 Maybe some of the problems were because of the large jump we made from El Capitán on the 2011 27 inch iMac to a 2020 27 inch iMac running macOS Sequoia, 15.2.

My apologies for my rant, but it has not been an enjoyable experience by a long shot. 😉

Thank God a lot of the help for utilities I have been using for years still work, and then he didn't even need an update. I would say that's a good sign of good programming abilities. 😉
