My manager bought a new mac mini M1 processor.

As you know it comes without keyboard and mouse.

I plugged the wired Logitech keyboard and mouse. Then I turned on the mac mini.

The computer is asking me to turn on the apple mouse which I do not have.

Is it mandatory to buy Apple mouse and keyboard to use it on this mac mini?

No you can use Logitech keyboard and mouse with logi unifying usb receiver. I am useing logi MX Keys and mouse with my Mini M1.

Mx key and mouse would also work with Bluetooth.

Thank you so much
You saved my life.

You are welcome, but I wouldn't have thought it was that serious to have saved your life. 😏

Keeping a wired keyboard and mouse on hand has always been good suggested advice, and I assume they are still needed with the M1 Mac, at least for setup, and maybe other emergencies as well.

It seems that Logitech is in the middle of different software being needed and somethings still rely on the old Logitech control (LCC) and some of their new hardware relies on the new Logitech Options software and not all are compatible with each other as I discovered with my new Logitech M720 (Options needed) and my old Logitech M705 mouse (LCC). So far I have been unable to get them both working together.

Good luck with your setup.
