Spoiler alert...it's faster than the M1 MBA it replaces.
However, if you get the base 256GB of storage (SSD), there is some controversy that it is slower than the previous MBA's 256GB SSD. Apple says that in the real world, there is no difference. Some recommend, that you purchase the 512GB option instead.
